For All My AZ Friends Who Are Moving To the Cold Country

Not mentioning any names, of course. Enjoy the winter. We'll be thinking of you!

I still can't figure out why anyone lives in those northern climates. Help yourself, we wouldn't want to get overcrowded here in the desert.

  2. That's funny! Ask Mike about crawling out the back window of his house in the middle of the night to spent 20 mins locating his car buried under the snow, then trying to dig it out, then spending time thawing it out and driving to work. Then doing the same thing the next morning. We will never live near snow again. LOL.. I can't imagine.

  3. Hey, What's so funny? (lol)

Us girls are already dreading the approaching winter. Feeling the cool blast of air when we open the door to let the cat in, cat out, cat in, cat out. Wearing jackets. Fingers and ears cold while playing with the horses last night. Surely the Lord is calling us south - right?

  7. Ha, ha! I was just going to C-box you, but I had to watch that YouTube. You have some wicked humor, there, girl!

Oh, yes. The Reach for the Stars sticker was so CUTE! Tell her thanks! And I got the money, too.

Let's see. I think THREE of your family has entered the contest now. :-)

  8. You know, that's really funny. A few years ago I was trying to get my dh to transfer to one of the locations back east because I grew up in the snow and just thought that my kids should have that opportunity. One day I was browsing the realty pages when I came across this gorgeous old house that had everything we wanted in a house. It also had a picture of the house in the winter. Suddenly I remembered what winter was aside from snowmen, snowball fights, and pretty Christmas mornings. I haven't bugged him about that since. :-D Although, let's face it, 110 on Sept 30 is a bit overkill.

  9. OK, Sally of many questions.

    1) yes! I forget a LOT of times to look at my c-box.

    2) A bell is a great idea. Like MSN messenger.

    3) Boring smilies? Yes, but I don't know how to get better ones. Don't you have to PAY for an upgraded c-box or something? You said to catch one from you. How do I do that (in my very limited "spare" time). LOL

I'm off to teach my writing class at the co-op. You don't know how much I wish Amy and company were in my class! I bet we could have lively discussions about characters, etc. I'm doing character charts this morning. The older class (11-13) is a group of enthused writers and so easy to work with. The younger group (8-10) is a large group, and I sometimes forget that although the younger homeschool kids read at or above grade level, many can't write more than a sentence. Oops. Next time I will make the entrance requirements more clear. Live and learn. But they are coming along . . . slowly.

I don't know how they find me, but a lot of e-mail addresses and names I don't recognize have entered the contest. That's good for me (more e-mails to add to my list) but not so good for those of you who are hoping for an easy "win." LOL

If you have any ideas for contests (like the Old West phrases) that are more than just a drawing and require a little thought, I'd love to hear about them. I have 5 more of those little Chinese dolls to give away. :-)

  10. That was a funny video clip! Winter really isn't so bad though. Actually, I think the hardships of winter weather can build character in us. Even the Prov. 31 woman had a good tip for us all in verse 21. "She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet." I live in the land of the frozen chosen. North Dakota!

  11. hehehe...thank you so much for reminding me of what's just around the corner. Having lived in Manitoba Canada all my life, I can't imagine life without winter. Yes there are scenes like the one on the video...but there's lots of good stuff. Life slows down for one thing! And there are no bugs or snakes or other nasty critters! My boys can't wait for the snow to arrive so we can start on the outdoor skating rink. Nope, you can have the south...I like my 4 seasons!
