My People Love to Have It So

Where will it end?
Where is God's word today?  Do you know?  Without preservation, inspiration is worthless.

Every time a "new" translation is published, it is farther from what God gave us, both in its words and in its message. Since the late 1800's Bible "translators" have had an agenda. Here's a word about their latest popular work:

THE PRO-HOMOSEXUAL GREEN BIBLE (Friday Church News Notes, June 10, 2011,, 866-295-4143) -
The Message, by Eugene Peterson, is extremely popular and influential. Rick Warren quotes it frequently, five times in the first chapter of The Purpose-Driven Life alone. It has been recommended by Warren Wiersbe, J.I. Packer, Jerry Jenkins, Joyce Meyer, Stuart and Jill Briscoe, Vernon Grounds, Bill Hybels, Leighton Ford, Billy Graham, Joni Earckson Tada, Chuck Swindoll, Bill Gaither, John Maxwell, Gordon Fee, Gordon MacDonald, and Max Lucado, to name a few. [Do these people have no discernment??]  Yet, it is the goofiest, most frightfully corrupt “version” I have ever seen. It has a New Agey flavor (probably because of Peterson’s deep interaction with Catholic contemplative mysticism), even using the occultic term “as above, so below.” It is weirdly oriented toward environmentalism. In Romans 15:13, The Message says, “May the God of green hope fill you up with joy,” and in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 it says that those who “use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don’t quality as citizens in God’s kingdom.” The Message is also pro-homosexual, playing right into the hands of those who teach that homosexuality is a natural condition that God can bless instead of a sin that needs to be repented of. Every passage that condemns homosexuality is tampered with in The Message. For example, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 in the KJV’s “effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind” becomes the vapid and almost meaningless “those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex.” In 1 Timothy 1:10, “them that defile themselves with mankind” is changed to “the irresponsible, who defy all authority, riding roughshod over God, life, sex, truth, whatever.” Romans 1:26-27 becomes “sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men--all lust and no love.” This fits into the humanistic thinking that as long as homosexuals “love” one another, everything is fine. One brother rightly observed that “The Message is simply a forerunner to what will be a ‘christless,’ sinless Bible.” Beware of The Message and of the deeply corrupt evangelical world that loves it!

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means;
and my people love to have it so:
and what will ye do in the end thereof? Jer 5:31

  1. 2 Timothy 4:3,4: "For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.- I guess that time is now!

  2. Perversion of God's Word is certainly a crime against Him and will not escape His justice in the end. Take heart, my exhorting friend. I look forward to the day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess!

  3. Thank you for posting that. I went to the wayoflife website and posted it on FB. I share your frustration with The Message. I know people reading it and don't see the problem. My daughter is now taking up the cause in youth group. The other night someone tossed her a Bible to look something up and it was The Message. She sat it down and said "no thanks, I'd like a real Bible".

I can't stand that supposedly intelligent Christians allow themselves to be so deceived!

  4. AUGH...I can't stand "The Message". It's not a Bible at all, just another tool of satan. I agree...what has happened to DISCERNMENT? Delusion certainly has blinded the eyes, minds, and hearts of most...even once respected Christian leaders. I just stand in disbelief of all that is going on around us...but yet, I see it happening...the LORD warned us and it's here.

  5. I have gone back to my King James Bible after reading your re-post recently. I want God's Word exactly has He designed it. Don't substitute words for mercy or grace or faith or redemption or sin to me, I need God's Word His way!

  6. The Message has no place in our home. And yes, I too am saddened and disturbed at how many have accepted it as God's Word.
Many are being deceived in the church in these last's the "falling away." We live in times where we need to know the Word and our Lord's voice. (John 10)

  7. Oops, "anonymous" above is Julie (Life@40acrefarm).

  8. Hello! I read all of the posts on the page; so lovely to know another lover of God's precious Word. I, too, choose not to debate ad naseum. What some people do not (or choose not to) realize is that we (or at least, I) also had those same questions and challenges regarding the King James. The difference is that I looked for myself, first doubtfully comparing Bibles (shocker #1 to say the least) and then I tenaciously sought the answers to those questions (and some from whom I sought honest answers would not help me but rather rolled their eyes!). I love to share the truth about the King James with honest seekers, but some people ask questions not with an attitude of curiosity and honestly, but with arrogance and their minds already made up. In the meantime, I quietly am refreshed by God's Word and am so thankful for His provision, preservation and protection of it. I teach my children that this is where the clear water is.

    Running the race with you,
    Keri Mae

P.S. Your photo of you holding your laundry knots made me laugh out loud! How I would love to meet you in person!

  9. We are so watching scriptural prophecy unfold before our very eyes. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

I emailed two neck pillow patterns to you moments ago. I hope you are able to use them to bless your mom. It blesses me to make them available to you. Thank you for visiting my blog. I enjoyed my visit to yours.
