Beach Day

Well, guess what, I did go to the lake, after all, and I took a zillion pictures (thank the Lord for digital cameras). These photos are going to look just like the ones I took last year at the lake.  Same lake, same hot sun, same kids, same swimsuits, even!   It was 115, just like I thought.  We didn't get there until 3 pm, and we still sunburned.  I put my toes in the water a couple of times, and I can't believe the kids actually got in.  (My DH did, too, but he's like that. )  The beach was packed, well, there might have been 50 people there, but that's too many for our liking.  We go wayyyy down on the end where there isn't anybody. Problem is, we have to walk by all of them on our way out.  Sorry about all the pixelation.  Someday I'll figure out how to post photos right, but not right now. I'm going to bed.  See you tomorrow!

  1. We went to the beach on Sunday and because it is a regular work day for most people, it was mostly ours except for maybe 4 pensioners who are there every morning of the week. Your photos are great, we don't have any because there would be nobody to take any pictures - we are all either in the water or collecting little goodies out of the rock pools....

  2. Fun photos!!! Too bad you have to walk past all the naked people. I thought you could just drive to "your spot". I can't imagine 115, and it's only May. It's only 61 here (at 4 pm). And no, we didn't get frost the other night, there is frost warnings just north of here for tonight again, but I'm not going to cover the plants. Keep cool!!!

  3. It looks like everyone had a great time. We were in the 80's again today, but it is going to drop tonight, only 50's and raining for the next week. :(

  5. I had to laugh when you said "looks the same as last year; same kids, same suits, same lake..." Insert my family, and it looks like our lake pictures, too! LOL What lake is that, if you don't mind telling me?

To answer your question about my CVS shopping: Yes, I do find that we use everything I buy, for the simple reason that I don't purchase items we won't use. I know some people do that, to get the ECB's, but I consider that wasteful, and I could possibly be taking it away from someone who really would use it. Do I have a good supply laid in of shampoo, conditioner, deoderent, toothbrushes and soap? Yep. But it's all stuff we use, and if I were to get sick I wouldn't have to worry about missing our shopping trip for a week or two. Plus, I will donate extra to our church pantry. Win-win! :)

    Nice hearing from you again!

    Warmly,
