I quit doing those dumb Blogthings quizzes a while back, because it seemed they never had the right answers for me, or else if it was true/false, I felt the need to qualify my answers, and well, that's impossible on something like this. But hey, I found a test that is totally objective! This I can do:
You Passed 8th Grade Math |
To my great relief, I passed. This is good, since my oldest daughter is in eighth grade this year. Funny, we haven't come to these kinds of problems yet... This is pre-algebra, right??
Trust me it gets better the farther you go into it, just wait till you get into the fractions.

I was not good in upper math, probably b/c we moved in the middle of the year and the place we moved to was beyond where I was currently, so I felt dumb. But my problem was I always struggled with "why" did it work out that way, instead of memorizing the formula for the test like everyone else LOL. I can't remember that little cat-ear ^ mark either :) I know what you mean about all the other quizzes tho.. there is always a question that doesn't give all the available answers.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about moving somewhere to be interested.. except in north-eastern SD, there was nothing up there lol. I find CA intriguing and sorta dangerous lol. I mean, if people build a house in a flood plain, on a beach known to have hurricanes, and right next to a fault line, is that smart? :-o
Good for you on the tv-free! It was because of the move from SD to CA 2.5 yrs ago that I finally had the chance to ditch the ball and chain. We were pretty busy just getting to know our new surroundings and starting the rest of the family homeschooling (and reading books) that it wasn't really missed, except by DH, who now has to watch a few rented movies each week :( I agree something will want to fill the void. When the boys were staying with cousins this summer they were allowed to play pc games 1 hour a day! Now they expect that here too. I'm redoing the rules this week.
have a great week

Well, I got a 4 out of 10 - I failed! But I hate math and have no use for algebra... I managed to keep B's all through school, but I only retained that info long enough to pass test, then I cleared it out of my head to make room for more interesting stuff! hahaha
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've been stopping by the blogs most days, just haven't had time to comment. It's been very busy at my house! About to get even busier! Pray for us though. We are having some serious family issues right now (involving a divorce of family member) and the whole family is in a tailspin! Plus we are getting ready to have company for the rest of this week and there will be 13 people staying at my house! Thank goodness I have a big house! It should be fun and a great distraction from the "drama" in my family!
Have a great Wednesday! Love ya!

I was SO paranoid to take that! I'm math-phobic ( literally!) and I thought for sure I would fail...but I actually 'passed' with 7 out of 10. Not the greatest score...but it gives me hope for the future. Maybe I can learn right along-side my kids?!
