There Is Hope

Okay, even I can do this.  And by the way, this is a great homeschooler's garden project.  When you've  cut off your last stalk of celery, stick the base in a pot of dirt and water it.  Now you can grow your next bunch.  :)

I think you're supposed to blanch celery... but I haven't gotten that far, yet. Anybody know?

  1. This is cool! I will have to give it a try. I don't blanch celery. I do take a potato peeler to the outside of the stalk to remove some of the tough stuff.

  2. Hey, this is cool! I planted a clove of garlic that I bought at the store last year, and it came up this spring. I guess I will see if it makes it over the summer.

  3. I keep meaning to try this, but I forget and put the core in compost. There's not enough motivation for me to dig it out. Maybe next bunch.
