That house looks rather empty, doesn't it?

When we moved to Arizona we had a 26-foot moving truck.  Everything we owned fit in it.  That was before we had two cars, a king-sized bed, two bunk beds, three large desks and three small ones, and an oak dining table that seated twelve.  It was also before we had eight bicycles. (Yes, there are only six of us.  Some guys collect tools.  Some guys collect bikes.)  And it was before we had years' worth of school curriculum and a vast library.  See how God has blessed us?!

We are leaving the piano.  And the recliner.  Our washer and dryer and refrigerator are sold.  The king-sized bed stays here.   Three of four of the desks will go in the yard sale this week.

The driver of the Penske truck is worried that we will still have too many possessions to fit into the van.  I now hear talk of leaving behind another desk, the dining room table(!), the bookshelves, and some end tables.

*sigh*

Hold on while I experience an attitude adjustment...

Okay, I feel better now.
All we need is a home.
With the Lord and a roof and six people who love each other, we have that!

That house looks rather empty.  There's no furniture in it, but it does have the most important thing.  :)

  1. Oh my goodness, Sally. If I lived next door to you and if I had some chocolate, I'd share it with you. :-) I'm praying for you.

  3. LOL, well, I hear standing up while eating is good for the digestion. I noticed none of the bikes were on that leaving-behind list. It would be the same thing here ya know. It looks like you might have a BIG sale afterall...whatever you give up, I'm sure the Lord will give you something better up here. I'd give you some of my furniture...but I'm sure you wouldn't want it. ♥ (((HUGS)))

  4. Sally,
Hang in there - it will all work out and you will blessed because you gave it all to God. Easy for me to say I know. but several years ago the local Airport took our home for airport expansion. We had no place to go. We were going to have rent the home we once owed from the airport! I was stressed beyond stressed and had several stress related asthma attacks. One day I told Hubby "I'm done looking for a home!" When God wants us to move - we will. 2 days later we found the current home! God stretches us beyond what we can bear in order to help us grow. You all are growing and He will be praised because of your lives.

  5. I read a blog post this week of someone moving from Kansas to Colorado and she is selling every piece of furniture. She thinks it is more economical to sell it and then find replacements via garage sales and such at the new place. I think that would be hard, personally. We have 8 bikes for 5 people. My husband has 3. He loves them all.

  6. I would bring you chocolate and ice tea! HUGs
There are wonderful "tag" ( that is what they call them in Minnesota) sales in Minnesota. I am sure you can find what ever you need ( and had to leave behind). But the piano:( okay that would make me cry! HUGs to you!
I clearly understand the bikes! Dh use to race. More than one bike was the norm.
    Have a wonderful day!
