Sunday Only

Are you a Sunday-morning-only Christian?  What if your pastor were to take the bold approach and ask you personally the reason for your absence on Sunday evenings and at the mid-week service?  Would you be offended?  See what happened when this pastor did just that with his non-100% church members.

Aren't people funny?  We think, "Oh, God understands..."  Yes, he sure does.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;
(for he is faithful that promised;)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love
and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another:
and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:23-25

  1. Unfortunately, many are a Christmas & Easter only Christian - at best, and not during hunting or fishing season.

    Our church doesn't have a Sunday night or Wednesday night service because the pastor lives an hour away and teaches at the college, but has an in-depth college-like class on Monday nights and something going on almost every night of the week. I'd like to see more at our church have family or personal Bible study and not leave everything up to the church - it gets to be too much time away from home.

  2. Our church doesn't have a Sunday evening or midweek service, either. (Except during Advent and Lent) :-(

    I really wih we had a midweek one. I could use that 'pick-me-up.'
