Here is what I made:
ROFL!! Not delicious, and definitely NOT beautiful. I don't know what happened! Yes, I greased the pan. No, I didn't get it into the oven before it had risen too long. No, I didn't know that one can of pumpkin pie mix and one can of pumpkin plus some spices are not equal substitutions. (Does pumpkin pie mix have egg in it or something?? Maybe a bit of sugar??) I had one bite of this mess and said, "Yuck." It wasn't that bad, but it definitely wasn't to die for. As far as I'm concerned, it was a tremendous waste of good chocolate! We had it for supper last night with an egg casserole, and I thought sure I'd have to toss most of it into the trash. But guess what? I was wrong! (This is when I like being wrong.) My other resident chocoholic, Booklover, thinks this creation is wonderful great. Out of the twenty-four rolls it took to make this, I estimate only four are left. Good thing Booklover is a twig.
ROFLOL!
ReplyDeleteOh...am am SO sorry to laugh at your 'failure' but that looks exactly like something I would make!!!
(Let's just say my attempt at potato pancakes looked like someone had been sick - horribly sick!) :-p
Thanks for being a good sport and sharing that with us!
(It makes me feel not quite so bad about my own kitchen disasters!)
Michelle
You actually take pictures of your failures!!!! I am not that brave-but hey, at least your family ate it!
ReplyDeleteToday it is all rain all the time here in PA so I am using my Taste of Home/Simple and Delicious Magazine. "Peanut Butter Jumbos" They are cooling on the counter in the kitchen-not as pretty as the picture, (nothing ever is if I make it...) but they taste so good-three of us couldn't wait until they cooled...we'll save some for Dad!

That was very funny!!!
ReplyDeletehahhhahahahhahahaha, that is great! i love it. you are my culinary hero. i am glad i'm not the only one who can't make my 'masterpieces' turn out like the pictures in the book!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Well... not sure if you can bribe any neighbors to be nice to you with that.. but anything with chocolate is worth eating IMO hehehee
ReplyDeleteThe truth is most marketing photos are what you have just glued together or fake altogether lol.
I received the "family stuff" in today's mail, thank you! I was thinking why we just didn't have you just email the scanned files? That would have saved postage lol.
You are pretty brave to put your baking failures out there. I've had plenty of them, but some of them still taste good, just look horrible. Anything with pumpkin and chocolate I can't picture being bad. :)

Hi there, I have been going around visiting the blogs of those on my friends list and leaving random comments today...and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your culinary disaster. Looks somewhat like my attempt at trying to make "monkey bread" one time - it didn't come out well at all :-) I also have to say that I would have never thought to combine pumpkin with chocolate chips...sounds interesting might have to try that sometime - especially the muffins you mentioned. I'd love the recipe if you're willing to share :-) Anyway - have a great weekend! Oh I've been trying to "tinker" with my blog template somewhat - and it's getting better - not sure if I like the brown or not yet - but I may still bug you sometime in the future for help with it, if your offer is still good :-)

I got to taste some pumpkin chocolate chip bread recently at Great Harvest Bakery. Yum! My attempts at such things would definitely mimic yours!
ReplyDeleteAnd it looks to me like plenty of people read your blog--so you must have just been trying to make me feel better. (Thanks.) I know how to bump my readership (my daughter, BookFreak, is a pro at this!), but time limits my ability to read (let alone comment!) on other people's blogs. (I know, I know, that's true for everyone.)
What am I neglecting in order to comment today? Supper. I will soon be hounded into fixing something. My family has been Very Patient.
ROFL!!!! Both Amber & I are sitting here LOL! We all have flops - how good of you to share yours :).
ReplyDeletePlease do not serve that at the next ladies function. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteKristy :)
Hi Sally~
ReplyDeleteGlad it tasted yummy, cause it sure looks awful (sorry to be so blunt)! Looks can be deceiving however, and in your case, they were. Enjoy your foiled attempt!
I'm not really a mean person but ew. Oh yea and I'll use it.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love your new template!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I am sorry your fruit-cake turned out so ill! That's what mine would have looked at! LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my most recent post. Haha "expensive man". Yeah exactly right. It's all in the Lord's timing, and it truly is a trust-factor. I think. :)
Love
MJ
It looks about my monkey bread did! I can't imagine making chocolate chip pumpkin bread with rolls. Strange recipe!
