Grand Canyon Mini-Adventure

Yesterday we made a day trip to the #1 tourist attraction world-wide, the Grand Canyon.  This is a huge event for us homebodies, because even though we have lived in Arizona for nearly four years and have driven past the GC exit a dozen times, we FINALLY went to see it for the first time.  It was worth the wait!  As my three-year-old said, "Wow, Mommy!  That's a BIG HOLE!!"We had a great time.  I am only posting four or five pictures, because you could take a zillion photos and never really capture its size. 





 






Is my kid the only one who does this kind of scary stuff??  Good thing she lived to tell about it!

    Me and Mackenzie stood EXACTLY where miss allie is crouching down. Must I say mom had a heart attack when she saw us both standing there????

    Well, at least I was not STANDING UP, like Julia and Mackenzie did! :o) That would've been too scary.

    It is absolutely breath taking. I remember going back when I was 15 yrs old. That was a good bit of many years ago!!! Praying for y'all.

    I have never been to the Grand Canyon but sure would like to someday. I hear it's so much more awesome in person. You took some lovely pictures though!

    Beautiful pictures! We went when I was a kid. Our dog caused quite a ruckus when we tried to walk him out to the observation point--digging his claws into the rock and not wanting to go any closer. My dad was quite put out with him. It was funny though. :)

    Oh, I forgot just how beautiful the GC is! Alison is scarring me though. I am so afraid of ledges - even just sitting here and looking at that picture creeps me out. lol Great picture of your family too!

    I visited the Grand Canyon on a family vacation many years ago. I'd love to take my boys one day.
