The Library Stack

R

Oh no! I missed a few!  This is our library stack.  I find books all over the house, all the time, and it drives me crazy, but I should count my blessings that my kids are readers, huh?  Even the "baby".  That is both a blessing and a curse.  With the ability to read comes the desire to know, and that was Eve's problem, wasn't it. We are blessed to have two libraries relatively close-by, and more blessed that they will cheerfully do inter-library loans for us. I do have to say I am dismayed at the ever-increasing number of books on the shelves that have to do with witchcraft and magic and that kind of stuff.  A lot of times I won't take the librarian's recommendations. Each cardholder has a 15-book limit, so... 4 people, times 15 books, times 2 libraries equals... 120 books!  Sometimes I have to put the overflow on my DH's card!  Whew. But it looks like this was a low week :o)  Do you ever have to take your books back in a laundry basket?!?

  1. I am more amazed that you can find that many that are safe to read.

  2. I love American Girl Books. which one of your kiddos is the Felecity fan? Has she seen the videos? Molly is my favorite. My favorite tea party with my grandchildren was when the four year old looked at me, flipped her cup and said "I shall take no tea!" Just as proper as could be.

We always forget to return at least one book.

    Great stack!

  3. Wow I don't think I've ever had that many books. Only my daughter and I are real readers, and our library is very small. But even if we had a big one, I don't think we would have that many. :)

  4. Our book stack doesn't usually get that high, but my laundry pile does! Can that count for something?

Just kidding. My children enjoy reading too, but we have not made a recent trip to the library. Our favorite library branch - the main one - is about 15 miles away. We try to visit it when we also need to make a stop at the discount bread store and our chiropractor (they are all in close proximity.)

My youngest dd is a HUGE fan of mystery stories. So a couple of days ago I pulled some of my old Nancy Drew books (from the 60's) out of storage. My little miss is devouring them! Books are such a treat! Have fun toting your load back to the library. Need to borrow a laundry basket?

  5. LOL. I do see some at our library with laundry baskets too, especially on book sale day. We do get a lot, but not that much. We have a lot of bad books in our library, especially in the early reader area - but I am also surprised at all the good books and videos that our library carries (Like Storykeepers and Adventures in Odessy)- I guess I never make it to the adult section anyways - I have more than enough at home already. We also utilize the church library a lot too. I'm forever reserving books on intra-library loan.

  6. That looks about like our usual stack. I'm so glad for the library.

  7. Our stacks are like that too! WE have a limit of 50 per card at our library. It's our favorite place to go!

  8. We just read this series this past school year. WE loved these books. I never even knew there was more that one book! Learning all the time!

  9. that is a neat stack.

our library allows 25 books per person! we have 50 out right now and 20 on reserve so we'll have to be returning some books soon - or getting our kids some cards!
