What a lovely post you wrote. We have a graduate here, as well, and one who would love to go the no-college route. Alas, when you're preparing "Mr. Right" to care for a precious wife and children, college is somewhat of a necessity. We've put our collective foot down, hubby and I, and insisted he get a trade before any other degree, and oldest ds has maturely, thoughtfully, and prayerfully accepted our guidance. Thank the good Lord for His never-ending grace in these wonderful young adults that we have.

Oh, and Sal? Tell Dad good job, too. I didn't have a protector and champion in my own dad, and I feel the loss to this day because of it. He's still alive, just not that kind of dad.

Have a lovely rest-of-week,
Shani xxxShanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12158892994417030606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5134777892508885758.post-39388774274289258802012-04-15T16:20:04.983-05:002012-04-15T16:20:04.983-05:00Congratulations Alison and congratulations mama fo...Congratulations Alison and congratulations mama for guiding her to success! I LOVE this entry!!! We are training our girls for God's highest calling (and indeed instruction - Titus 2:3-5) for them to be godly wives, mommies and keepers at home! It's not popular but it's still right. What an articulate daughter you have raised to respond to that lady so fearlessly :) thank you for the encouragement that this post provided me!The Wandering Yankeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09634345207481977575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5134777892508885758.post-51139112046882806842012-04-12T11:21:47.985-05:002012-04-12T11:21:47.985-05:00Congratulations Alison...along with Mom & Dad!...Congratulations Alison...along with Mom & Dad!
And praise God for bringing you (Alison) to this point in your life. She wants most of all to be a wife and mother, however, that may not be the Lord's plan. Since she is only 12, we don't have to worry too much, but it is there in the back of my mind.Jennifer Hootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16757290424217660803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5134777892508885758.post-29748892533016685412012-04-09T10:57:31.198-05:002012-04-09T10:57:31.198-05:00Congratulations (again) to Alison and to you mom f...Congratulations (again) to Alison and to you mom for all your hard work and sacrifices throughout the years. (One has stated that she thinks she just might prefer single-hood so she could focus on missions work - and if that is her calling I will support it...While I would love for her to give me some grandbabies, I know that may not be God's plan for her life.) ;-)

It sounds like Alison's off to a great start on the road to adulthood. You should be very proud Mom & Dad...you have raised a mighty arrow.michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07154039920240315400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5134777892508885758.post-35582623697132807142012-04-08T17:21:05.226-05:002012-04-08T17:21:05.226-05:00Hi Sally,
I just stumbled upon your blog and love ...Hi Sally,
I just stumbled upon your blog and love it - so much so that I am now a faithful follower. :) And I look forward to reading future posts and getting to know you better. This post is wonderful - I love Alison's response to the older lady. My oldest daughter went through the same thing before she got married. Some people just couldn't understand why she didn't need to - or want to - go to college. Any way, I'd love for you to stop by sometime and visit me. :)
Many blessings!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13273301456471935137noreply@blogger.com
