The older three girls now do it at least once a year, following a schedule, and Emily is making progress in the New Testament. I don't know about their personal prayer lives. On school days we have devotions together with Bible reading by Mom, prayer together (also by Mom, but the others are encouraged to participate), and a good read-aloud. Dad leads the evening devotions after supper. We could -- and should -- do more.
